an insider's view of
Loire Valley, France
With pick-up and drop off in Paris, and small daily travels in between, this tour is based out of Loire Valley, where you will be enjoying your stays in Amboise and Azay le Rideau.
There are a lot of things we love about traveling to Loire Valley. Full of historic chateaus, incredible Atlantic seafood, oysters, mussels, rich foie gras, filet of duck, tender pork, incredible desserts and the most perfect food wines, it's a decadent trip to say the least. On this trip we will taste the best Sauvignon Blanc and Chenin Blanc in the world, light and delicious Pinot Noirs and earthy Cabernet Franc.
Your stay will be for three nights each in two charming hotels within easy, leisurely day trips of the key wine and culture sites we'll be visiting.
Some of the highlights (other than wine tasting) of this wine tour include:
A trip to Chateau Chambord, one of the most recognizable chateaux in the world due to its very distinctive French Renaissance architecture.
A guided tour of the sunny Chateau of Chenonceau.
A chance to explore the town of Loches and visit the Chateau de Loches and its market.
Dinner at Vincent Cuisinier de Campagne, a restaurant in a private home. Vincent is the Chef and he provides a warm greeting and a lovely meal in his dining room.
A visit to the town of Fontvraud and its abbey.
A boat ride on the river in lovely Candes St. Martin.
And of course, enjoying traditional French foods at some of our favorite restaurants from our extensive time in Loire Valley.
