Alquimista Cellars 'Convergence' Pinot Noir Cuvée 2016

Alquimista is an artisanal winery from self-proclaimed “Pinot Disciple” Greg La Follette and Patrick Dillon that aims to create vibrant, balanced Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in California’s cool climate. Together they have developed some of the most renowned growing sites in Sonoma and have put into place meticulous winemaking techniques that highlight the unique character and intense expression of the region.

Tasting Notes:

Each of the three Mendocino County Vineyards contributes unique attributes of its specific terroir; soil, elevation, microclimate, farming techniques, and mystique. What ends up in your glass is a true manifestation of the alchemy they strive to achieve. The coastal influences are evident in this wine; notes of bitter orange, cranberry, and cinnamon are well-balanced with tannins and acidity through the finish.

Pinot Noir is an incredibly versatile food pairing wine given its higher acidity and lower tannin. We love this wine with duck, chicken pork and mushrooms.
