an insider's view of
Tuscany, Italy
With pick-up in Rome, drop off in Florence, and small daily travels in between, this tour is based out of southern Tuscany and Umbria, where you will be enjoying your stay in a gorgeous Tuscan farmhouse.
Medieval, hilltop towns with breathtaking views. Etruscan tombs and wine cellars. Sipping some of the best wines Italy has to offer while overlooking the Tuscan countryside. Homemade meals at the farmhouse paired with wonderful local wines.
This tour is collaborated with our good friend and wine importer, Paul Turina, who has planned everything to do with wine on this journey through Tuscany and Umbria. Paul is an American who spends half the year in Umbria. We are fortunate to know him. He specifically looks for small and unique wine producers in Italy and imports a small quantity of wine into the United States each year. Production from his producers is extraordinarily limited.
Some of the highlights (other than wine tasting) of this wine tour include:
On most evenings at the farmhouse you will enjoy personal and intimate food and wine tasting experiences where you will get to sample some of the incredible small producers Paul works with in the area.
A visit to the postcard worthy town of Montepulciano where there is great shopping and beautiful Etruscan wine cellars.
A visit to the gardens of nearby La Focce.
A 90 minute walking tour of Siena (you are welcome to wander on your own if you prefer).
And of course, enjoying traditional Italian foods at some of our favorite restaurants from our extensive time in Tuscany and Umbria.
