Vinos de Madrid is the Denominación de Origen title that covers the vineyards around Madrid. Although the region is not particularly well known for its viticulture today, they have been making wine since the 8th century. More recently the region has made a push towards quality over quantity and the region is slowly but surely gaining a reputation for food quality and good value offerings.
